The Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad comprises experienced leaders drawn from public service, finance, construction, and strategic management — collectively driving the Group’s governance and long-term growth agenda.
Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zulkiple bin Kassim (R) was appointed as Director of Pasdec Holdings Berhad on 19 July 2019 and is the Chairman of the Company.
Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zulkiple is a retired Senior Army Officer who served the country for 42 years. He served as the 26th Malaysian Chief of Army from 2016 until his retirement in February 2019. He has also held various important positions in the Malaysian Army including Commander of the 4th Malaysian Infantry Brigade (Mech) in 2003, General Officer Commanding of the 4th Malaysian Infantry Division in 2007 and Commander of the Malaysian Army Field Command West in 2011. In recognition for his service to the country, Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zulkiple has been conferred various medals and awards of honour and recognition.
He holds a Diploma of Science in Management from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) and a Master’s of Science degree in Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia. While serving the Army, he attended various courses on national security at the Army Command and Staff College and the Defence and Strategic Studies course in Australia.
Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zulkiple’s extensive knowledge and experience in management, administration, leadership, training and logistic enables him to contribute effectively to the Board.
Dato’ Sri Tew Kim Thin was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad on 10 October 2017. He serves as the Executive Deputy Chairman of Pasdec Holdings Berhad since 1 September 2019.
He is a self-made entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in the construction and property development industry. He started his involvement in the construction industry soon after completing his primary education. His dynamism and vision coupled with in depth experience is instrumental in the growth and success of the companies that he has led.
He is presently leading the Zenith Aim group of companies that are involved in property development, property management, shopping mall operation and hospitality business. Among the successfully completed projects are 5-star hotels, an international convention centre, Class A office tower, shopping malls, golf and country club, as well as mixed residential and commercial projects.
Johari Shukri bin Jamil was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad (“PASDEC”) as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director on 1 August 2024, and later assumed the role of Group Managing Director effective from 1 October 2024 with the mandate to drive PASDEC’s business transformation and spearhead its next growth chapter. Principally involved in property development, project management, asset management and civil and building construction, Johari is entrusted to strengthen the Group’s revenue stream with the goal of building a robust, defensive and sustainable business portfolio.
He is an experienced leader and has held various key roles in private and public listed companies over the past 20 years. He has proven track record in strategic leadership functions and has played key role in spearheading business turnaround with expertise in operational efficiency and organizational transformation.
Johari graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (Polymer) from University of Technology Malaysia and holds a Certificate in Advanced Leadership Programme from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
He is presently the Independent Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of BSL Corporation Berhad and a board member for Yayasan Majlis Belia Malaysia (YMBM).
Prior to joining PASDEC, Johari was the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hektar Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. (HAMSB) from June 2022 until September 2024. HAMSB is the Asset Manager for Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust or Hektar REIT, Malaysia’s first retail focused REIT with Asset Under Management exceeding RM1.3 billion. Johari has been instrumental in steering Hektar REIT through the post-pandemic recovery and led the REIT’s diversification strategy with the acquisition of its first ever non-retail asset. His leadership in the aftermath of the pandemic revived Hektar REIT’s profitability and restored unitholders’ confidence in Hektar REIT.
Johari began his career as a Process/Chemical Engineer in Titan Polyethlene (M) Sdn. Bhd. in 1995 and was promoted as a Project Engineer in 1997 which he stayed on until 2000, before joining Foster Wheeler (M) Sdn. Bhd. as Project Engineer until 2002. He then served as a Business Development Manager for several reputable international and local Oil & Gas companies from 2002, moving on to Inai Kiara Sdn. Bhd. in 2005 as a Senior General Manager. From 2006 to 2011, he was with Difense Konsult Sdn. Bhd., serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Director.
In year 2011, he joined Johor Corporation (JCorp), a Johor state-owned company (GLC) as General Manager, Business Development and was later promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Tanjung Langsat Port Sdn. Bhd. and also served as a member of the Board of the subsidiary companies. He later assumed the role as a Vice President of Business Relationship & Marketing, Industrial Development Division of the JCorp, Executive Director of TPM Technopark Sdn. Bhd. and Executive Director of Tanjung Langsat Port Sdn. Bhd. prior to his special assignment to a public listed subsidiary company, EA Technique (M) Berhad where he was the Chief Operating Officer.
He then joined Iskandar Investment Berhad, a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad in January 2019 where he stepped into a newly created role, Transformation Office, to bring the company towards innovation and new business frontiers. He later assumed the post as the Executive Vice President, Business Development. He was later seconded to a subsidiary company, Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to facilitate the transformation journey and strategic marketing and business development initiatives.
With more than 28 years of experience across numerous industries including property and real estate, logistics, maritime, renewable energy, industrial development, marine engineering, properties, construction, security & defence, technology, oil & gas, start-up and investment holding, Johari is highly adaptable to challenges of various multitude and has developed a strong network within the business, banking and regulatory communities.
Tew Kim Kiat was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad as Executive Director on 10 July 2019 before being appointed as the Group Managing Director on 1 September 2019. He was redesignated as the Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 May 2023 after relinquishing his position as Group Managing Director.
Prior to his appointment as Director, Tew Kim Kiat was the Senior Vice President Projects of Pasdec Holdings Berhad.
Tew Kim Kiat is a self-made entrepreneur with vast experience in infrastructure, property development and plantation sector. He was the Managing Director of Zenith Aim Sdn. Bhd. that is involved in property development and infrastructure for more than 20 years. He has more than 10 years of experience in the oil palm industry and was instrumental in the revitalisation and turnaround of several loss-making palm oil mills into profitable operations. He is a director of several private limited companies involved in plantation, palm oil mill and investment.
Dato’ Kamarul ‘Arifin bin Ahmad@Abd Rahman was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad on 8 July 2019.
He graduated with a Diploma in Accountancy from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and went on to obtain his Post Graduate Certificate in Business and his Master in Business Administration majoring in Finance from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Dato’ Kamarul ‘Arifin currently serves as Pahang State Business and Investment Officer and Coordinator of government linked companies (GLCs) of the State.
Before being appointed to his present post on 1 August 2018, he was the General Manager of Padiberas Nasional Berhad (Padiberas) from the year 2014. Prior to this, he was the Executive Director of Beras Corporation Sdn. Bhd. in 2013 and Jasmine Food Corporation Sdn. Bhd. from 2009 to 2012, both subsidiaries of Padiberas. He started his career with Bernas Logistics Sdn. Bhd. in 2003 before being promoted to several managerial posts within the group. He is also a director of several State GLCs such as Koridor Utiliti Pahang Sdn. Bhd., Pahang Go Sdn. Bhd. and Pahang Corporation Sdn. Bhd.
Dato’ Mohd Faizal bin Jaafar was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad on 8 July 2019.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
Dato’ Mohd Faizal started his career as Administrative and Diplomatic Officer with the Ministry of Finance in 2002, after which he continued to hold various posts in Government agencies including the position of Deputy Director of the Land and Mineral Office of Pahang and Deputy Chief District Officer at Bentong District and Land Office, before moving on to serve as the Department Secretary to the Pahang State Secretary (SUK) for 3 years starting from 2016.
Dato’ Sri Sharifuddin bin Ab. Ghani was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad on 10 July 2019.
He holds a Diploma in Police Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master of Human Resource Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia.
Dato’ Sri Sharifuddin served the Royal Malaysia Police Force for over 40 years before retiring as Chief Police Officer of Pahang with the rank of Commissioner of Police in April 2017.
He started as a Probationary Inspector of Police in 1976. After basic training, he was attached to Special Action Unit (UTK) Bukit Aman. Throughout his career with the Royal Malaysia Police Force, he has also served as Armament Officer, Serious Crime Department CID-D9, Chief Security Officer of Istana Negara, Aide de-Camp to the 4th Prime Minister, Temerloh District Chief of Police, Commander of UTK and Deputy Chief Police Officer of Pahang.
A Chartered Accountant, Sharina Bahrin was appointed to the Board of Pasdec Holdings Berhad on 10 October 2017.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Finance, a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degree and a Master’s of Accounting degree, all from the University of Western Australia. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Sharina has more than 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and business advisory fields in Malaysia and Australia.
From 2003 to 2008, she was an Executive Director of Aftaas Consulting Sdn. Bhd. and prior to that she was Associate Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Corporate Finance and Recovery from 1997 to 2003.
She served many years at PETRONAS from 1991 to 1997 in various capacities as holding company accounts manager, finance manager of a joint venture project, senior executive of its group corporate finance and also a member of the PETRONAS corporate strategy team focusing on globalisation. In Australia, she provided business advisory services and preparation of account and tax returns to entities of various industries.
She was an Independent Director of Far East Holdings Berhad from 2005 to 2010. Sharina is currently the Executive Director of Sea2Sea Services Sdn. Bhd., a company providing business management consultancy services and a director of 36 Advisory Sdn. Bhd.
